Job Interview

First post, so it’s time for the first step and the most asked question. When most animators wear pj and hawaiian shirts to work every day what should you wear to the interview. After attending several panels, questioning long time animators, and those who just got the job; the consensus is clean and modest, but casual.

When you finally get a interview they already know they like your art, so the interview is more of a get to know you, because no one wants to go to work every day with a self centred know it all. So the Hawaiian shirt and pj wearing animators are more likely to hire someone who doesn’t come across as stiff, but also won’t smell, or distract with too much skin ;).

So men stick to your good jeans, and clean shirt. Women the same applies, with more options for instance a nice knee length skirt or dress. Whether you choose a button up or a nice t-shirt with a fun talking point printed on it just make sure you comfortable, because if you’re comfortable you’re going to come across more confident and personable.

As a last note don’t forget the mother rule though, a.k.a. nothing the average person wouldn’t wear to meet the parents. Example
